None of the Above

Forcrying out loud we have debate about solid scientific models in this country, how can those percieving bias on the other side be considered in any way legitimate? I agree with Machiavelli, perception is reality. But that is only in politics because politics is artifice. It aims at misrepresenting the world. If you take that as the basis of your reality, then of course there is no objective perspective. What then is the point of communication? Solely bending others to your will?

Nice point: Made by someone over at Whiskey Bar, in the comments to A Saudi Riddle
I mention all this just to say the reasons for most of our wars and military adventures can be traced to the economic interests of a few wealthy individuals. Even our entry in to WWI was influenced by the economic interests of major banks that were afraid England and France wouldn't be able to pay back the money these banks had loaned if they lost the war. Make the world safe for democracy, indeed. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that, at the core, most wars have the same root causes: the economic advatages of a few. While ancient history may seem irrelevant today, I think it helps to see the consistency in the continuum. Posted by: lonesomeG at May 30, 2004 12:17 PM

Amazing playhouse: I was looking at the random picture thingie and found a neat page detailing the construction of a kid's really cool playhouse. Sweet! I wish I was that little kid.
